Installation Problems

Please check these notes it you are having any problems either installing or running Satmaster programs.

(1) Windows XP, Windows Server, Windows Vista, Windows 7

If you have an error message when starting Satmaster Pro or it fails to run, you may find DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is enabled by default for ALL programs. If this is the case, add Satmaster to the list of excepted programs.

Click the following sequence to add Satmaster to the exception list:
Control Panel >> System >> Advanced Tab >> Performance "Settings" Button >> Data Execution Prevention Tab, then add Satmaster to the exceptions list

For XP and Vista, the default setting is 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only') but for Windows Server 2003 onwards, the default setting is 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select'.

(2) Windows Server 2003 or 2008

Satmaster by default saves the contents of some minor 'Calculate' menu dialog boxes at shutdown which is a simple user convenience option but Windows Server might complain. If this is the case, here is the solution:

Select Options|Setup from the main menu (Satmaster Set Up Form).
a) Clear the option, "Save supplementary dialog entries on exit"
b) Set "Setup Persistance" to "All Sessions"
c) Click OK.

This will prevent the program saving anything to disk when the program shuts down.
