Installation FAQ

(1) Data Execution Protection (DEP)
If you have obscure error messages when launching Satmaster Pro or it fails to run, you may find DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is enabled by default for ALL programs. If this is the case, add Satmaster to the list of excepted programs. Satmaster Pro Mk8.2 and QuickAim Mk4.2 (or later) are unaffected and are DEP compatible.

Click the following sequence to add Satmaster to the exception list:
Control Panel >> System >> Advanced Tab >> Performance "Settings" Button >> Data Execution Prevention Tab, then add Satmaster to the exceptions list

An alternative solution is to select the option 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only'.
(2) File Write Permissions
Satmaster uses two files, SATMAST.CFG and SATMAST.DAT to store configuration and form data. As a result, some system settings may trigger rather obscure error messages, or freeze, on application shutdown. To prevent this, ensure these two files are granted write access for USERS as well as Administrators.
